James Stewart Jr.

James Stewart, Jr., 84, of Cramerton, passed away at his home on Monday, February 4, 2013 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Franklin, North Carolina and was the son of the late James and Biddie Carringer Stewart.

Mr. Stewart retired as a Supervisor with Burlington Industries at the Mayflower Plant.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife of 8 years, Effie Mae Stewart; one son; two daughters; one brother; one sister; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.

Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Friday at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Ivey officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife of over 40 years, Bobbie Jean Stewart; two brothers; four sisters.
