Jim worked as a supervisor in the hosiery mills for most of his career, after serving in the US Army.
Jim always had a passion for woodworking and painting although there was very few things that he couldn’t make or repair.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Sigmon and her husband Keith; son, Billy Brandenburg and his wife Karen; grandchildren, Leslie Smith and her husband Josh, Terra Brandenburg, Nicole Butler, Misty Brandenburg, and Brittany Brandenburg; his pal, Glenda “Sissy” Dubetsky; five great grandchildren and several brothers back home.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his wife, Helen Poole Brandenburg and his brother, Ray Brandenburg.
A visitation for Jimmy will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina 28054 with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. A committal service will immediately follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to local animal shelters, as we all know how he loved to rescue animals.
