Joseph Carroll Edwards

Loving husband, father and grandfather… A good provider… A man who was very outgoing and took care of things along with doing anything he could for his family and friends… Teaching his grandchildren to swim… These are just a few of the accolades of Joseph “Joe” Carroll Edwards who passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Caromont Regional Medical Center. A “Chevy” man who loved car shows, classic rock ‘n roll. Joe worked for Wix Corporation for 44 years.

He was the son of the late Lyda Edwards and Dorothy Conner Edwards. Joe was also preceded in death by his brother Wayne Edwards.

Those left behind to cherish the memories of Joe are his wife of 34 years Peggy Joyce Edwards of the home; daughter: Pamela Wallace; son: Timothy Craig both of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; two granddaughters: Kayla Heatherly and Jennifer Craig; three grandsons: Joseph Heatherly, Thomas Craig and Joshua Craig; two sisters: Dollie Bailey and husband Glenn of Gastonia, North Carolina and Sandra Edwards and companion Allen Middleton of Mount Holly, North Carolina; two brothers: Harold Conner and James Paul Edwards and wife Beverly of Cherryville, North Carolina.

A celebration of life for Joe will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in the Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home. Active pallbearers are Timothy Craig, Dale Treece, Charlie Williams, Jeff Williams and Joseph Heatherly. Graveside and committal service will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Monday, November 30, 2015 at Carothers Funeral Home.
