Linda L. Lineberger

Linda L. Lineberger, age 75, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Linda was a Gaston County native and a former member of East Baptist Church. After a rewarding career, Linda retired from Gaston County Department of Social Services. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy are her husband of 54 years, Thomas Lee Lineberger, Sr of the home; two daughters and sons in law: Darla and Scott Pruitt of Gastonia, North Carolina, Christine and Terry Thornburg of Dallas, North Carolina; one son: Thomas “Tommy” Lineberger, Jr. of Dallas, North Carolina; four grandchildren: Kellie Pruitt, Ryan Pruitt and wife Megan, Jacob Thornburg and Riley Thornburg; three great grandchildren: Kyson, Ryker and Blaine; one sister: Faye Butler of Fairbanks, Alaska; her special companion; “Scooty” her Jack Russell Terrier.

Linda was the daughter of the late Kelly Lineberger and Annie Mae Carrigan Lineberger. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Payne, Geanne Reid, Geraldine Carpenter and Helen Killian; two brother: K.A. Lineberger and Neal Lineberger..

A Life Well Celebrated Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina with Reverend Robert Baker to deliver words of comfort to Linda’s family and friends.

Graveside and Committal will follow at the Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, 210 Long Creek Church Road, Dallas, North Carolina.

Active pallbearers are Ryan Pruitt, Jeff Pruitt, Terry Thornburg, Jacob Thornburg, Riley Thornburg and Victor Brown.

The family will receive guests from 6:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM, Monday, October 16, 2017 in Stateroom II at Carothers Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff of Gaston Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
