Macie Lorene Auten Baker

She was born in Cramerton and was the daughter of the late Macon and Eula Bush Auten.

Mrs. Baker was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gastonia. Mrs. Baker was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and assisted her late husband, Rev. Fred Lee Baker, Sr. in his ministry serving many Methodist Churches in North Carolina.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her daughter, Beverly Walker and husband Tommy of Cornelius; one brother, Harold Auten of Florida; one grandson, Jason Walker and wife Jennifer of Cary; two great grandchildren, Haley and Reagan Walker of Cary.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 190 East Franklin Blvd., Gastonia with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Dr. David Christy and the Rev. Keith Whitener officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, Rev. Fred Lee Baker, Sr.; one son, Fred Lee Baker, Jr.; one granddaughter, Leslie Walker; three brothers, Glenn Auten, Lloyd Auten, Fred Auten; three sisters, Fannie Chaney, Catherine Carnes, Doris Whitener.
