Neil Earl Cannon, age 88, went to be with the Lord on October 18, 2022. He passed peacefully in his sleep at home. He was born on November 10, 1933 in Gaston County, NC to the late Enoch and Ella Cannon.
Earl was a long-time member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Lowell. He proudly served his country in the Navy. Earl was an Entrepreneur who operated several businesses.
He was very generous and donated to many charities.
Earl was a huge fan of NASCAR, football and he loved the Atlanta Braves.
He was a family man who thought the world of his three daughters and was a fine husband and father. He was the best man in our world and we will forever miss him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his older sister, Helen Roach and two grandsons.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Cannon; three daughters, Renee Cannon, Joan Wolke and Candy Scism; two stepchildren, Tim Ledford and Sherri Drumm; two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A visitation for Earl will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 1101 N. Main Street, Lowell, NC 28098 with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. A committal service will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054.
