Robbie Lee Abernathy, Jr., age 35, passed away on November 14, 2021 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. He was born in Gaston County, son of Sharon Chambers Fuller and Robbie Lee Abernathy, Sr. who survives.
Robbie enjoyed playing sports and was an avid fisherman. He will be remembered as a loving son and nephew who loved animals. His giving and caring nature will continue to be felt among those left behind.
Robbie was a Sales Representative with Baker & Mitchell, now known as Gregor Plumbing, in Charlotte for over 15 years.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Grant Chambers; paternal grandfather, Robert Abernathy.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his uncles, Steve Chambers and Robert Chambers; paternal grandmother, Martha Abernathy, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His beloved dogs, Paw Paw, Rusty, Mr. Beagle and BB Gun will also miss him dearly.
A service to celebrate Robbie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021 in the Brevard Room at Carothers Funeral Home in Stanley with the Rev. James Chambers officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm until the service time.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Charlotte.
