

“Men of Few Words are the Best Men”…Robert Roosevelt “Bob” Anderson, 84, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Bob was a man of few words but always meant what he said. Described by his family, Bob was an awesome man, a caring family man with a great sense of humor. He worked in the printing industry for many years. Bob loved his Antique cars, going to Antique car shows and NASCAR.
Bob served his country honorably in the United States Army as a Paratrooper in the 503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment Company A.
Left behind to cherish Bob’s memories and carry on his legacy are his loving wife of 50 years, Ann Mashburn Anderson; his daughter Robin Gunn and two step daughters: Alesia Sauls and husband Pete, Tonja Chastine all of Gastonia, North Carolina; Robbie Gunn, Crystal Anderson Crisp and ten additional grandchildren and one brother: Don Anderson.
Bob was the son of the late John Anderson and Myrtle Hayes Anderson. He was preceded in death by one daughter Brenda Anderson Yelton and one son Bobby Anderson.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Katherine Inscoe to deliver words of comfort to Bob’s family and friends. Active pallbearers are Pete Sauls, Taylor Sauls, Jimmy Stroupe, Larry Fowler and Henry Allen.
Graveside and committal service with military honors accorded by the Gaston County Honor Guard and the United States Army will follow in the Four Seasons Garden at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
Those who own Antique or Classic cars who are attending the service and going in procession to the cemetery are asked to drive their classic vehicles. You will be lined up together directly behind the family.
