Thinking of her family and praying for you all.  I will never forget her working at Belks during Christmas and going just as hard as she could go.  It is sweet going through my mother's recipes and seeing the list of people bringing different dishes and seeing Sarah's name on what she was going to bring to the dinner.  She was a special lady, and I think of her often.  Oneill and I was talking about her and Marshall last Saturday about the wonderful memories we have of them.  We all have our special memories to cherish in our hears always.

I am so sorry to hear of Sarah's passing.  She was my "hero".  We were in the same club at the ECA.  She taught me so much about this area.  
I couldn't believe how intricate her quilting skills were.
She was a true GEM,  and I feel bad for anyone who never got to meet her.


                Alberta and I cannot remember a time when we did not know and love Sarah. We grew up in Linwood Park and as youth attended Linwood Presbyterian Church with the Rollins family.  The women of the neighborhood fellowshipped at The Linwood Park Ladies' Club. Among the lovely women of the neighborhood, Sarah shone brightly with her radiant smile, natural grace, and good humor.  It was always pleasant to be near Sarah.  Whenever we shopped, we headed first to Belk to see her.  

              After marrying and moving from the neighborhood, it was always a joy whenever we saw her or one of her children, themselves the best testimony to her character, her example,  and her practical wisdom. I was privileged to share an interim position with Jean after we  both  had retired and later to reconnect with all three sisters and to meet Shannon when they managed an estate sale at a neighbor's home.

               Sherry and Stacy, Jean, Deanna and Vaughan, Shannon,  and your families, Alberta's and my hearts go out to you at the passing of your dear mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. We treasure precious memories of Marshall, Freddie, and beautiful, ever-young-at-heart Sarah. We very much regret that quarantining for medical procedures prevents our being present with you as you say a temporary goodbye to Sarah. Be assured that our hearts are near and our prayers are for God to be close with His Holy Spirit to strengthen you in the days ahead and to bless you with your own precious memories of the many good times that you shared with Sarah in her long and fruitful life.

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I have many fond memories of working with her at Belks during summers and holidays. She was always so friendly and happy. Deanna, I am also sorry to hear about your son. You and your family are in my prayers.

Sarah was the mother of my first and best friend, so I spent much of my childhood in their home. So many people talking at once! It was wonderful. My thoughts and prayers are with you. 

It has been my pleasure knowing Sarah for many years having first met her at Matthews Belk.  And later visiting with her at her home.
She was always very upbeat and had a great personality. 
I have many fond memories of her.

I have such fond memories of Sarah.  I remember the days in Linwood Park , the church and of course the ladies club.  I have found from my mothers recipes names of what they were all going to bring to the dinners at the church, and her name was on the list.  I remember all the days of seeing her working so hard at  Belks. I remember the Christmas Eve celebrating Sarah and Marshall and my parents wedding anniversaries together.  I will always cherish all the memories I have of Sarah.  She was the last one that survived from the days of Linwood Park...now they are all together celebrating Christmas together, oh my, what a celebration it will be.  She was a very special lady and she sure will be missed.

Mrs. Rollins will be missed. She was a very sweet, kind and loving person to all.  We the third shift staff here at Brookdale Robinwood will miss her dearly.  Terri, Glenn, Kristin 


We had many wonderful days together talking for hours  about past events and special people. She had a marvelous memory,  sense of humor and quick wit.  It became a running joke between us that the next day when I came we were either going motorcycle riding with our handsome young biker boyfriends or maybe we'd hit the tattoo parlor. She would come up with some doozies, like the time she said "now if we go out with the boys on the boat tomorrow don't let me forget my bikini".  She laughed for an hour one day about how  shocked her daughter would be to come in and see her new tattoo. And shocked she was. Although it was washable the trick worked. 
Sarah was a very special person in my life. I will treasure her memory always.
