Shirley Cabe Brackett

Shirley was a life-long member of Unity Baptist Church in Gastonia. She was a dedicated homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Shirley was a helping hand to her friends and neighbors.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband of 62 years, Earl Kenneth Brackett; daughter, Melinda Brackett Causey; and siblings, Dorothy Parton, Floyd Cabe, Barbara Wilson, Carolyn Henderson.

She is survived by her son, George Kenneth Brackett and wife Mary; son-in-law, Robert Causey; grandchildren, Kelsey Causey, Johnny Clark and wife Emily, Niki Clark and fiance Jeremy Nolen; great grandchildren, Maylin Cooper and Riley Cooper; siblings, Faye Allen, Joyce Swicegood and husband Jackie, Patsy Mesimer and husband Terry, and Helen McCaskill; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Friday, November 10, 2023 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm. A committal service will immediately follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
