Elaine Foy Burleson, 81, passed away on October 6, 2022 at the Eckerd Living Center in Highlands, NC. She was born August 6, 1941 in Gaston County, NC, a daughter of the late Archie H. Foy and Ruth Murphy Foy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jerone “Jerry” Burleson.
Elaine attended Ashley High School and graduated in 1959. She retired in 2007 from BB&T after working 25 years. She was a faithful lifelong member of Pisgah Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Women of the Church and the Suzanne Elliott Circle. Elaine loved her family as well as her church family. She kept in touch with her high school friends and her BB&T friends. She enjoyed the beach, relaxing with family and friends (over a meal that she had prepared) and shopping.
Elaine is survived by her sons, Greg (Connie) Burleson of Highlands, NC and Jonathan (Brooke) Burleson of Gallatin, TN; granddaughters, Hannah (Heath) Bradley of Greenville, SC; Haley Burleson of North Augusta, SC; Carol-Lan Burleson of Hilton Head, SC; Gracie Burleson of Gallatin, TN; grandson, Caleb Burleson of Gallatin, TN; sister, Kay F. (Lamar) Robinson of Gastonia, NC, sisters-in –law Judy Thornburg of Hartwell, GA and Gwen Burleson of Bessemer City, NC and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Pisgah ARP Church, 3600 Linwood Rd, Gastonia, NC. A Celebration of Life service will be at 11:30 am in the church sanctuary with Rev. Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will be private.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers Elaine had in Gastonia and at Eckerd Living Center.
