

A native of Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Gertrude Tate.
Mrs. Barnes was a member of Riverwood Worship Center and was retired from Homelite.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Crisp of Gastonia; sisters, Juanita Cannon of Gastonia, Edna Burleson of Gastonia; grandsons, Marty Gibson and wife Bekki of Gastonia, Richard Gibson, Jr. and wife Leslie of Bessemer City, David Gibson and wife Crystal of Gastonia; granddaughter, Melissa Wooten; and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marty Lee Barnes; son-in-law, Richard Gibson, Sr.; sister, Sarah McGee; and an infant brother.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia with Rev. Danny Howell officiating.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9pm Monday, May 13, 2013 at Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia.
