Wesley Steven Hedrick “Bubba”, 63, of Gastonia, NC went to his heavenly home to rest Monday, August 22, 2022. He was born December 11, 1958 in Charlotte, NC to the late Gordon “Dick” and Gladys Hedrick.
Steve attended West Charlotte High School. He retired in 2021 from Freightliner Truck Manufacturing Plant in Mt. Holly after 42 years of hard work and dedicated service. His passions were NASCAR, “The King” Richard Petty, Tarheels, Giants, fishing and spending time with his two daughters Michelle and Stephanie, and three grandchildren Ethan, Faith, and Caleb.
He was a beloved Father, Pawpaw, Brother, Christian and Friend.
He is survived by his two daughters, Michelle Younts and husband Thomas and their children Ethan Wiegert and Faith Davidson of Gastonia; Stephanie Hedrick and son Caleb Cruz of Gastonia; sister-in-law Lisa Hedrick of Kannapolis; sister Debbie Ashford and husband Darrell of Stanley; sister Sharon Rose and husband Ken of Huntersville; brother Greg Hedrick of Concord; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his brother, Barry Hedrick and sister-in-law Cindy Hedrick.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 5:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 pm at City Church (New Hope Campus), 3100 City Church Street, Gastonia, NC 28056. Pastor Dickie Spargo will be officiating the service.
