William was born March 15, 1935 in Gaston County, a son of the late Dory Ervin Ford and Helen Beaty Ford.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are a son, Eddie Ford and wife, Lisa, of Clover; daughters, Scarlet Ford of Gastonia and Caroline Collupy and husband Glenn of Wake Forest; brother, Alfred Ford of Gastonia; sister, Doris Deaton of Gastonia; grandchildren, Katie Devane, Erica Huxford, Calvin Chavis, Alyssa and Abbey Collupy and great grandchildren, Isaac and Isaiah Devane.
A visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18 at Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. in Gaston Memorial Park.
