Allen Roy Hughes

Allen is the son of Harry Nevin Hughes and Antonia Mercado Hughes, both deceased. Loving husband to DeVon M. Hughes of Georgetown, Texas for 48 years. Father of Tiffany A. Hughes and stepfather of Paul T. Hughes and wife Leah of Spicewood, Texas; older brother of Norman N. Hughes of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas and younger brother of the late Gloria Drawdy of Kelseyville, California. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Nicholas Hughes and wife Nikki, Jeremy Hughes, Tyler Hughes, and Tiana Warren and husband Kai Hernandez; and three great grandchildren: Kailani Hernandez, Frank Hernandez, and Aiden Hernandez.

Allen was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 14, 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee, was an avid golfer, and a Gideon. Allen worked as a Vice President of Wells Fargo Bank for 37 years. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Georgetown since 2004 and loved handing out Bibles wherever he went.

A visitation for Allen will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. A reception will follow from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. The burial will occur Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, TX 76542.
