Andrew M. Hernandez

Andrew M. Hernandez, 71 of Jarrell, entered into rest June 5, 2012. Andrew was born November 30, 1940 to Sotero and Sipriana Hernandez in Georgetown. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. A service to celebrate Andrew’s life and faith will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Sonterra Fellowship Church in Jarrell. Interment will follow in Cornhill Cemetery. Andrew grew up in the Georgetown/Jarrell area and went to work at an early age. He finally realized his life’s dream when he opened and operated Hernandez Upholstery in Jarrell. He enjoyed his shop for 45 years until poor health forced him to retire in December of 2011. Andrew understood the importance of community and served as a volunteer firefighter in Jarrell for many years. In his spare time, Andrew loved going to car shows and watching Westerns. Andrew is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; and a sister, Lupe. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Linda, whom he married at Chapel Dulcinea in Austin on November 27, 2009; daughters, Lisa Pineda (Art) of Kyle, Grace Hernandez (Raul DeLeon) of Jarrell,and Jackie Revilla (Mike) of Round Rock; son, Mark of Jarrell; sisters, Susie Denning, Delia Aleman (Rudy), and Barbara Pekar (Paul) all of Georgetown; brother, Ricardo of Georgetown; step-mother, Paula Hernandez of Georgetown; step-daughters, Katrina Peterson (Scott) of Georgetown and Kim Herber (Keith) of Taylor; grand children, Jerome, Andrew, and Samuel; and step-grand children, Dalton, Devin, Kasey, Lauren, and Shelby.
