Annie Jo “Ann” Morgan left this world to join loved ones in eternity on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Born in Tarpley, Texas on November 30, 1929, she followed Jesus Christ her entire life after being baptized at a young age. In high school she moved with her family to San Antonio, Texas, where she graduated from Edison High School. Ann attended Baptist Memorial School of Nursing in San Antonio and received her Registered Nurse diploma. During her nursing career, she worked in a doctor’s office, for Round Rock ISD, in public health and in long-term care positions. She retired from the Texas Department of Health and afterwards helped teach Bible study at the local nursing home in Kingsland, Texas where she attended First Baptist Church. When her daughter and son-in-law invited her to live with them, she joined First Baptist Church in Florence, Texas. There she was active in the WOM group. Ann was an avid fan of the San Antonio Spurs and a good game of dominoes. Her great sense of humor and quick smile readily filled her beautiful brown eyes as she encouraged friends, family, and patients with warmth and compassion. Ann loved well, and she was well loved.Ann is survived by her son Phil Frasier and his wife Regina, daughter Teri Jean Sherry and husband Wayne, step-sons Billy Ray Morgan and Brad Morgan, her brother D.A. Hicks and sister-in-law Grace Hicks, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one nephew, four nieces, ten grandnieces, and eight grandnephews. Dear friends join this family to celebrate Ann's life. Although her loved ones dearly miss her, they are assured by her deep faith, her daily prayers for them, and the quality time Ann spent reading, studying, and sharing what she learned in the Bible, that her Lord has truly called her home to be with Him in Heaven. There she is joined by those who passed this Way before her, her parents Delbert and Jean Hicks, her husband Bill Morgan, and her sister Ruth Dowd and brother-in-law Milton Dowd. One of Ann’s favorite scripture verses, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” is now her story. (2 Timothy 4:7)The family would like to extend their thanks to Brookdale Georgetown staff and hospice. Ann’s Life Celebration will take place on April 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Florence, Texas. The graveside service follows at Florence City Cemetery. If so led, memorials can be made to The Gideons International.
