Barbara Carlson Hallowell passed away On Monday, February 29, 2016, at age 87 in Austin, Texas. Barbara was born February 8, 1929, in Boston, Mass. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Clarence Carlson; mother, Esther Anna Johnson Carlson; and brothers, Allen Clifford Carlson and Russell Raymond Carlson. She married her late husband Robert Abner Hallowell in May 1949. Survivors include their daughter, Marta Black and husband David of New York, NY; sons, R.A. Hallowell, Jr. of Austin, Texas, Seth Hallowell of Lovell, Maine, Scott Hallowell and wife Nora of Austin, Texas, and Jeffery Hallowell and wife Carol of Round Rock, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren, Zachery Robert Hallowell, Rikki Hallowell, Samuel and Elspeth Black, and Keith and Jack Hallowell. At her request, she will be cremated with no services and will join her late husband at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen Texas. Private family memorial to follow.
