Barbara Carol Sorensen

Barbara was an intentional listener and captivating conversationalist. She was innately elegant and known for her untamed wit. A masterful hostess who truly desired her home to be a place of retreat for all she welcomed. And, while she valued the home she created, her soul was fed by educating children and spoiling pets. An avid fan of game shows and shopping for purses.  As a friend, she was endlessly committed to really knowing what mattered to you and who you are at the core. In motherhood, Barbara was unwavering. As for her children and grandchildren, they made her whole.

Barbara approached her cancer diagnosis with an open mind, persistence, grace and above all, an opportunity to educate herself which in turn gave strength to those who supported her.

Barbara is survived by her son Chad Sorensen, her daughter-in-law Susannah, and grandchildren Alec, Lauren, Camryn, and Chandler.

Barbara’s private funeral will be scheduled for Friday July 2nd at Austin Memorial Park.

We miss Barbrbara immeasurably. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for our family at this time.
