Betty was the author of three historical non-fiction books proving that the outlaw Jesse James was her great-great-grandfather and that he didn’t die as history reported. She was also an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother.
Betty is survived by her husband, Joe Duke; her children, Daniel, John, and Teresa Duke; and her grandchildren, James Woodson Duke and Lauren Elisabeth Duke.
The family will receive guests for a time of visitation at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 3, 2015. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander, Texas.
