Collette Justin Jacob was born on November 14, 1934 in Pratt, Kansas to William and Maude Jacob. She graduated from Pratt High in 1952 and went on to attend Mercy School of Nursing in Ft. Scott, Kansas. Not long after graduating, she joined the Air Force, where she worked as a surgical nurse. There she met and later married a pilot, Captain Henry Steinke, on January 12, 1963 in Austin, Texas. They celebrated their 55th anniversary this past January.
In the early 1960’s, Collette was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and was then honorably discharged from the Air Force. She went on to have two daughters, Janis Ann and Susan Lynne. She was a loving wife and mother with bright blue eyes and a quiet spirit who will be missed by all.
Collette was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Henry; daughter, Janis Herbst (Norton); daughter, Susan Moore (Patrick); five grandkids; sisters, Jean Frazier and Barbara Wilson; brothers, Larry Jacob (Nancy), Jerry Jacob (Arlene) and Phil Jacob (Carol); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 510 Luther Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628, on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 2pm.
