
Donald Lee (Don) Harrington was born in Irene, Texas on February 2, 1927 to Wiley and Ila Harrington. Later the family moved to a farm in Frost, Texas. Don attended school in Frost. After high school he enrolled in Junior College in Hillsboro and attended there until 1945 when he was drafted into the Army. He was in the paratroopers. Later he was sent to Japan with the occupation force with General MacArthur. After returning from the war Don attended and graduated from SMU with a degree in accounting.
Don went to work for Southern Union Gas Company and retired after 35 years of service.
Don met Jean in January of 1959 and they were married the next October. They loved to travel and took several great trips and enjoyed many trips together (day trips) with friends and neighbors.
Don was predeceased by his parents and his brother Darrell. He leaves to remember him and his kindness his wife Jean, of 61 years; two nephews, Dean and Doug Harrington; brother-in-law Richard Ross of Austin; a niece Sara Ross and her husband John of the Netherlands and two cousins, Sue Hammock of Austin and Bobbie King of Tyler.
Graveside services will be held under the direction of The Gabriels Funeral Chapel on March 3, 2021.
