Elizabeth Norman Hebert passed away on January 5, 2025, surrounded by love in Georgetown, Texas. Born on March 31, 1934, in Beaumont, Texas, Elizabeth lived a life filled with joy, adventure, and faith, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Baylor University and a dedicated schoolteacher, Elizabeth’s life was one of boundless curiosity and exploration. She embraced the world with open arms, living in Taiwan and Singapore and traveling extensively throughout Southeast Asia. Her adventurous spirit was matched by her unwavering devotion to her faith, her family, and her Irish heritage.
Elizabeth was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her two beloved sons, Al Ray and Jim; her granddaughter Amanda Ziminskas, her husband Ryan, and their children James, Jack, and Jett; her grandson Jimmy Hebert; granddaughter Anna Skutnik, grandsons Kenny Skutnik and Alex Skutnik; her sisters June White-Dennis (and husband Lindy) and Sally Nichols (and husband Nicky); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her daughter Katherine Skutnik.
Proud of her Irish roots, Elizabeth brought warmth, laughter, and a heartfelt toast of Sláinte to every gathering. She was truly one of a kind—special, remarkable, and unforgettable. A lifelong lover of books and history, her insatiable curiosity and sharp intellect never wavered.
With profound sadness and immense gratitude for her life, we say goodbye—for now. Through her deep faith in salvation through Jesus Christ, we find comfort in knowing we will reunite one day. We imagine her waiting for us beside a gentle fire, Irish music playing softly in the background, ready to welcome us home with open arms, many toasts, and her eternal love.
Slán abhaile – safe travels home.
Though our hearts ache with the void her absence has left, we find solace in the promise of a joyous reunion. Elizabeth, you were, are, and always will be deeply loved. What we wouldn’t give for just one more day with you.
