I remember Evelyn from back in the days of Giddings Mfg. 
She was always such a joy to be around, such a kind and loving woman. I can only imagine how her family misses her.

Miss talking to you. Always asking me about the soaps. Now have nobody that cares. We always called her gert or gertie lou, a nickname we put on her years ago. Kids always called her aunt gert.  We all miss her and now nobody to tell me the liberty hill gossip.

Granny loved Kathy and Donnie and watched over them like a loving Mother does her children. But Donnie and Granny's relationship went further than a Mother and son relationship. She was all business when it came to Starks Welding and all loving when it came to Donnie. Everyone was aware of this relationship and I admired her for that.

Granny and I hit it off well from the 1st day I started at Starks Welding. I believe this was so because Kathy and Donnie both approved of my hire. Not to mention Donnie, Kathy, Olga and I were already the best of friends. So as Granny seen it, a friend of Donnie is a friend of Granny. So began my relationship with Granny. Because of this great relationship, Granny always had my back.  With me being a buyer for Starks, I always had salespeople calling on me either by phone or walk-in visits. Over the many years I worked for Starks, Granny got to know the salespeople I dealt with on a regular basis. After all, Granny's desk was located at the entrance of our office so she was our first line of defense! lol. God forbid that someone came thru front door to call on me and they had no appointment and demanded to see me. It would not be a pretty sight. lol. The callers would either be reluctantly allowed to enter to visit with me or they would leave with their "tail" tucked in while asking themselves as they walk to their car, what just happened? You see even though Granny and I were in separate rooms of office, there was a glass door between us so we had visual contact. The walk-ins could not see me but I could hear them. So when someone walked in asking for me, Granny would ring my phone and provide me the name of the visitor and all I had to do was give her a "thumbs up" for entrance to my office or a "thumbs down" and off they go riding into the sunset. 

Granny will be missed tremendously but I know she will be looking down from heaven watching out for Starks Welding and most of all, Kathy and Donnie.

I worked with Evelyn many years ago at Giddings Mfg. I'll never forget our intercom system was Evelyn coming out of the office yelling at the top of her lungs for Mr. Gidding or for Jack. 
She was always a beautiful lady both inside and out and it is good to see pictures of her and Donnie and pictures of her surrounded by those she loved dearly. 
God Bless her loved ones always.
Remember she loved you all, she's not far away.

Grannie will be missed so much! 
She was my money teacher. Helping me with balancing my checkbook and teaching me accounting at the Bingo hall in Georgetown. 
Shawn, Shane and Shaylee will miss her too. 
The kids loved playing at Grannie’s racing on her scooter.
