Forrest Daniel Duncan, 44, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at home Friday, March 29, 2019. Forrest was born April 24,1974, in Morganfield, Kentucky, to Glenda (Bruce) and Truman Duncan. The oldest of three siblings, Forrest grew up working on his grandfather’s tobacco farm, surrounded by many cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Forrest always knew he wanted to join the Marines, so he enlisted at 17, heading off to boot camp the day after his high school graduation. After serving one tour, he continued another tour in the Reserves. He loved his time in the Marines, especially while stationed in Okinawa, where he fell in love with deep sea diving. After completing his time in the Marines, he put down roots in Tustin, California, where he began working in the Security Design field. He had a knack for the industry that quickly grew into a career where he became highly regarded by his peers. In 2008, he moved to Texas with his family, ultimately settling in Georgetown with no desire to live anywhere else. When not at work, Forrest could be found fishing every chance he got. He loved spending time kayaking on the San Gabriel River or, when possible, Matagorda Bay. He was known as a generous man who was always willing to help others and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He will be most remembered, though, for the love and adoration he had for his family and the way his eyes would light up as he talked about them. He took his role as head of household very seriously, and he knew that God was proud of him for taking such good care of his family.
Forrest is survived by his wife, Gayleen; his three stepchildren, Alexis, Troy, and Chris; his parents Glenda and Truman; his siblings Crystal (Mike) and Jeremy (Sarah); and his niece Lorelei and nephew Bowman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to ASPIN (Aiding Security Professionals in Need). Forrest was involved with raising funds for this organization to help families in need within the security industry. https://www.aspincares.org/donate
