It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Franklin Zrubek, 85, of Georgetown, Texas who suddenly passed away on February 18, 2025, on his farm doing what he loved.
Franklin was born on March 9, 1939, in Holland, TX , to the late Rudolph and Josephine Zrubek. He grew up in a close-knit community, where he developed a passion for carpentry and especially farming and ranching , which he carried with him throughout his life. Franklin was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, sense of humor and dedication to his friends.
Franklin was a loving husband to his wife of 51 years, Carol Zrubek who proceeds him in death, a wonderful father to his daughter, Jennifer (Zrubek) Cook and son-in- law Marc Cook, as well as a proud grandfather to his two granddaughters Ripley and Sutton Cook.
Franklin was a dedicated member of the SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger since he was in his early 20’s.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Franklin is survived by his dogs Trixie and Sadie who he adored, all his cattle who loved him because he spoiled them rotten, his brother, Jay Zrubek, his sister-in-law Peggy Kramer and his brother-in-law, Don Farmer, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
His graveside service was held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Calvary Cemetery in Granger, Texas at 10am.
Franklin’s love of all animals, his accountability to his family and friends , and his passion for farming and ranching will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
