

Our beloved Freddie Warren Barton, 64, of Pecos, Texas entered into eternal rest on May 12, 2011. He was born in El Paso, Texas on August 6, 1946 to George and Dimple (Haynes) Barton. Freddie attended public school in Pecos, Texas and in Austin, Texas and was a graduate of the "Old" Anderson High School. After graduation, Freddie joined the Military and served in Vietnam. He also worked for the Pecos Enterprise Newspaper for many years.
He confessed a belief in Christ at an early age and was a member of David Chapel Baptist Church in Austin, Texas. When he returned to Pecos, Texas he was a faithful member and one of the founders of The House of Prayer Baptist Church where he was the Head Deacon. He helped Pastor James Henderson whenever he was needed. Freddie's favorite scripture was Psalms 100 and Pastor Henderson states that he loved the hymn, "Blessed Assurance."
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother George Barton.
His memory lives on through his loving son SSG Douglas Hicks, daughter-in-law Angel and 3 wonderful grand children-Robert, Jonathon and Ladainian; brother Rudolph Evans of Abilene, Texas; sister Eva Delois Bigham of Austin, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives, and many, many friends. He will be remembered for his love of God, his laughter and great sense of humor.
Freddie’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas, and to the many people who kept their thoughts and prayers with him and his family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 20, 2011 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Interment will follow at Miller Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Douglas Hicks, Aaron Hunt, Sr., Ceddrick Pendleton and Chandler Pendleton.
