

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Henry Eugene Flynt, Jr, at the age of 80 years old. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and will be fondly remembered for his devotion to God and family along with achievements in life. Sunday, August 10, 2025, Henry passed away in Georgetown, Texas after a hard-fought battle with illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Eugene Flynt, Sr. and Mary Dick Flynt of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Survivors are his loving wife, JoAnne Freeman Flynt of Georgetown; daughter, Anna Lea Flynt (Lay) and spouse Brandon Lay; grandson Rydge Lay; and extended family and friends.
He was born on July 25th, 1945, in the Great Smokey Mountains and later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas with his parents, graduating from W.B. Ray High School in 1963, and attending Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, later graduating from Texas A&I, Kingsville, Texas.
Enlisting in the United States Army in 1970, he received an Honorable Discharge as Major Flynt in 2006 as a testament of Honest and Faithful Service to his country. He dedicated over 37 years to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, Enforcement Division, then Audit & Legal Division which transferred him from Corpus Christi to Grapevine, to Odessa, to Bastrop and finally to Georgetown, TX where he retired in 2011 to enjoy side projects and hobbies. He was a member of the Central Texas Harley Group where he and his wife gained wonderful friendships and memories. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that always had an answer to the problem, providing strong support and guiding love. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Walburg, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations or contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Visitation services will be held at the Cooke-Walden Funeral Home in Georgetown on Sunday, August 17th at 2:00pm – 4:00pm. Burial service at Bundick Cemetery in Smiley, Texas at a later date.
