Irene Edna Martinez

Irene Martinez, born August 25, 1953, in Millerburg, Ohio, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2024. Preceded in death by her parents Dwight Voltz and Charlene Mount, and later her loving stepmother Jane Voltz. Irene is survived by her devoted husband, Jose Martinez, and leaves behind a cherished legacy of five children: Angie Simpson (husband Kelsi), Rebecca Miller, Brock Miller (Fiancé Savannah Satterlee), Joey Martinez (wife Lee Ann), and Jeneva Martinez (husband Alberto).A proud graduate of West Holmes High School in 1971, Irene's journey led her to Georgetown in 1990 with her three children. In 1991, she met the love of her life, Jose. They married on Feb 3, 2005, uniting their families. Irene worked at Tellabs Inc. for 11 years before retiring and was an active member of Celebration Church in Georgetown.Known for her affection for pigs and pig decor, Irene's home exuded warmth and country charm. She leaves behind a large and loving family, including 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Irene is survived by her siblings: Libby Wengerd, Byron Voltz, Mitch Voltz, and Troy Voltz. She will be deeply missed by her nine nephews, four nieces, and all who were touched by her gracious presence.Finding joy in reading, especially the Bible and Amish-based books, Irene's life was surrounded by love until her serene passing on January 16, 2024. Services will be held Jan 27th, 2024 at 1pm Gabriel’s Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
