

Jack Baxter, 78 of Georgetown, died January 17, 2009 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 2:00 pm in St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of The Rosary Cemetery. Jack was born February 18, 1930 to Arnold Jack and Mary Louise (Kirner) Baxter in Chicago, Illinois. Jack’s education saw him receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Purdue University. Jack married Marianne Phillipp in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on September 14, 1957. Jack’s career in copper mining saw the family settling in El Paso, where Jack was a refinery plant manager for Phelps Dodge Mining Company. He retired in 1993 after 53 years faithful service. Jack was a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church. Jack is survived by his wife, Marianne of Georgetown; daughters, Nancy Baxter of Lutz, FL. And Carol Lemanski of Georgetown; sons, Michael of North Ogden, UT. And Thomas of Marysville, WA.; grandchildren, Shane Lemanski, Jennifer Baxter, and Catherine Baxter. The family suggests Memorial contributions be made to Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78759.
