Jack D. Powers

Funeral services for Jack D. Powers, 86 of Georgetown, will be held 2:00PM, Sunday, June 5, 2016, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown. Burial will follow at Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the funeral home. Jack was born February 23, 1930, the son of Joe Marvin Powers and Este (White) Powers in Lometa, Texas. He married his late wife, Mildred Powers May 9, 1951, in Georgetown. Jack honorably served 4 years in the United States Air Force and then worked as a Helicopter Inspector, which took him to various military bases throughout the world. He enjoyed gardening and even creating new species of flowers, along with camping and fishing. He was always fixing and working on various things especially his grandchildren's toys when they broke. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lane Powers; and his wife, Mildred Powers (2015). Survivors his children, son, Ramon Powers and wife Brenda of Georgetown; daughter, Sharon Powers of Hutto; a brother, James T. Powers and wife Lucille of Georgetown; two sisters, Bonnie Ringstaff and husband James of Leander, Nova Cole and husband Kenneth of Sabinal; five grandchildren, Brandy Jones, Brittany Mizner, Bradley Powers, Kristin Ward, Travis Powers; and 9 great grandchildren.
