Jane Stephenson

She was born May 3, 1928 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Alfred Bentley Stratton & Esther Randal Stratton. She grew up in Arlington, Kansas and attended Junior College in Hutchinson.

Jane married Milford “Whitey” Stephenson of Hutchinson, KS on August 5, 1948.  She devoted her life to Whitey, children Robert Bentley, Nancy, Diane, Joan, Janet & William Allen, 4 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild.  She retired from Orthopedic Associates where she worked on insurance claims.  Sewing, gardening, cooking and service to her church & Kiwanis were her passions beyond her family.

Jane was predeceased by husband, Whitey, siblings, James Stratton & Elizabeth Anderson and three of her children: Robert Stephenson of St. Louis, Mo., Diane Stephenson of Millbrae, Calif., Janet Stephenson of St. Charles, Mo., and son-in-law Jerry Woollen of Georgetown, TX.

Survivors include children, Nancy Sawyer & husband Gary of Affton, Mo; Joni Woollen of Georgetown, Texas, William Allen Stephenson and wife Cheryl of Round Rock, Texas, and Son-in-Law, Rick Jurgens of White River Junction, VT; grandchildren, Megan Stephenson, Stratton Stephenson, Sarah Stephenson and Matthew Stephenson and a great grandson, Rylan Stephenson.

Visitation will be at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Tuesday, November 5 from 6-7 pm, Rosary from 7-8.  Mass at St. Helen Catholic Church will be Wednesday November 6 at 10 am.

Memorial donations are suggested to Kiwanis of Sun City Georgetown, TX or Eagle Scout Association of St. Louis, Mo.
