Jean R Harrington

March 15, 1932 - February 21, 2023Jean R. Harrington passed away peacefully on February 21 at her home in Georgetown, Texas.Jean was born in Fort Worth, Texas on March 15, 1932 to George and Anita Ross. After earning a degree in French and Spanish from the University of North Texas, Jean became a high school teacher in Corpus Christi, Texas. She maintained close friendships with many of her students throughout her life, always referring to them as “her kids”. In January of 1959, Jean met Don Harrington. They married the following year and spent 61 years together until Don’s passing in 2021. Throughout their lives, they enjoyed taking day trips to explore small towns in Texas, and later in life volunteering for Meals on Wheels. They also embarked on a few international adventures, including a trip to England and a memorable train journey from Texas to Canada. Jean also loved to read and watch movies, especially about espionage and intrigue during World War II.Jean is survived by her brother, a niece and nephew, and a cousin. She was buried on February 28, 2023, under the Direction of Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Texas. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
