

Born on April 3, 1943, in Big Spring, Texas, Jo Ann was the daughter of James and Wanda Horton. After graduating from Hardin-Simmons University, she relocated to Austin, where she married and had two children, Kevin and Joanna.
For many years, Jo Ann dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home mom. She actively participated in the PTA at her children’s schools and volunteered for Meal on Wheels. Upon returning to the workforce, she worked as a Production Manager at Trinity Publications for 26 years.
Jo Ann was an active member of New Hope Church, where she devoted her life to serving the Lord and making many cherished friends.
In 2011, she moved to Sun City, Texas, where she embraced her retirement years by staying active and cherishing time with her friends and family.
Jo Ann’s life was a beacon of love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Wanda Horton, and brother Jimmy. Jo Ann is survived by her sister Nora Boiles and her husband Troy, son Kevin Armstrong and his wife Cheryl, daughter Joanna Holle and her husband Scott, and her grandchildren Elise Holle, Meaghan Holle, and three great-grandchildren. Her memory will be cherished by many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at The Gabriel’s Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
