Kevin was born to parents Jimmy and Janice Mitchell on February 3rd, 1973 in Brownsville, Texas.
Kevin was a lifelong professional musician who played bass, guitar and drums, accomplishing many projects, bands and albums. He was devoted to his wife Michelle Mitchell for 25 years and had countless friends whom he loved dearly. In his spare time, he enjoyed writing songs and being with his family and friends. He had a passion for animals and was an avid bird watcher as well as a notorious deer whisperer. Kevin’s laugh was legendary and as big as his heart. He loved life with an enthusiasm that was unparalleled and believed that love conquered all. Kevin lived his life by this code and never missed an opportunity to say I love you along with a big, warm hug.
Kevin is survived by his wife Michelle Mitchell. Stepson Dakota Hatch. Sisters Jessica Frentz, Stacy McClelland. Brothers Shane Mitchell, Chance Mitchell, Khris Thayer, Steve Sliva. Nephews Dylan Seal, Griffin McClelland, Bronson McClelland, Chris Sonnier. Nieces Heather Frentz, Sunni Hebert, Sylvie Sonnier. Granddaughters Guyon Kirschke, Amelia Kirschke.
Kevin will be remembered as a loving husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, bandmate and most of all a true friend. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff at Baylor, Scott & White Hospital for all of their support with Kevin’s end of life care.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with details forthcoming.
