Louise Matilda Jost Schneider, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, made her journey to heaven on September 2, 2014 in Georgetown, Texas. Louise was born in Copperas Cove, Texas on June 29, 1924 to Willie and Alma Jost. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Copperas Cove and attended church school.
After growing up on the farm, she moved to Austin where she worked in Scottish Rite Dorm and met her future husband, Awalt Schneider. They married on April 29, 1951. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and farmer's wife. Since her marriage she has been a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Walburg, a 20 year participant in the Braille Ministry at Zion with 10 of those years as the leader, member of Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Christian Caring Connection. As long as she was able to drive, she gave rides to many friends so they could continue being active in church, the Braille Ministry and domino games. We all loved her smile and sense of humor and will miss her so very much.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Janet Sutton of Houston, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Neil Henis of Cedar Park, Texas; and granddaughter, Marissa Henis of Cedar Park, Texas. Louise's brother, Henry Jost and wife, Jeanette live in Copperas Cove, Texas. Louise also has many nieces and nephews that she enjoyed. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
The family would like to thank the many care givers for their kindness and caring.
To celebrate Louise’s life, a visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, September 5 at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral services will be at 10am on Saturday, September 6 at Zion Lutheran Church, Walburg.
Memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Braille Workers, Inc.
Arrangements under the direction of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, Georgetown, TX.
