Lynda Kaye Adkins, 50, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Monday, January 21, 2019. She was born on March 20, 1968 in Cuero, Texas where she lived for most of her childhood. After graduating from Cuero High School, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities-English from the University of Houston in Victoria, Texas where she began her dream career as an educator. Her passion for teaching never wavered, as evidenced by her 24 years in the classroom, 13 of those in the Georgetown Independent School District. She spent the last 10 years as an English/Language Arts teacher at East View High School, where she was greatly admired by both faculty and students. It was while acting as the cheerleading sponsor for Westview Middle School in Pflugerville, that she met her husband, Daniel, at a football game where he was the opposing team’s football coach. They married in 2003 and welcomed a son, Jonas, in 2005.
Lynda had many interests outside of the classroom. She enjoyed long walks on the various park trails in Georgetown; taking vacations with her family, especially to the beach; adventures out on the lake; taking photographs and compiling albums and scrapbooks; reading; entertaining; organizing; shopping; cuddling up with her two dogs and much more.
Left to cherish Lynda’s memory are her husband, Daniel and only son, Jonas; her mother, Shirley Woods; her father, Earl Ross and wife, Elaine; her sister, Cherlyn Kuecker and husband, Daniel; five nephews; as well as other relatives, friends, colleagues and countless students she touched throughout her career.
The family will be receiving visitors on Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 9-11am at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas to celebrate and honor the life of a beautiful soul who was gone way too soon.
Lynda loved animals, routinely feeding the wildlife around their house, and her two dogs lived a much-pampered life. She would be greatly satisfied knowing that her spirit was being honored by providing for the needs of animals, therefore in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to either the Georgetown Animal Shelter or the Society of the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals (SPCA).
Lynda was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She is, and will continue to be, deeply missed.
