Born in Ohio on April 28, 1963, Mark lived most of his life in Texas, where he found peace in open skies, quiet places, and music that meant something. A devoted fan of the Grateful Dead, he connected deeply with lyrics that told the truth — songs full of searching, struggle, and soul.
He was a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the biggest fan of Longhorn sports — a passion that went beyond the games themselves. To Mark, the Longhorns represented a lifelong community and spirit he held close to his heart — a source of joy, pride, and countless memories shared with family and friends.
He enjoyed camping, frisbee golf, spending time outdoors with family, being in the water, and surrounding himself with simple things. Above all, he cherished time with those he loved. Though life brought its share of immense struggles and complexities, we choose to remember the times he brought light into our lives.
Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Bieber (Pilot), and his daughter, Melissa Ann Hudson. He is survived by his son, Jordan Winston Hudson; daughter, Lauren Savanna-Deane Robinson (Hudson); father, Les Hudson; and brothers, Chad, Eddie, Danny, and Andrew.
A memorial gathering to honor Mark’s life will be arranged at a later date. The family invites those who knew him to share a story, play a favorite Grateful Dead track, or simply step outside and breathe in the stillness — in memory of Mark.
