

Raymond Darrel Wilmot was born March 22, 1936, in Sublette Kansas and joined his wife in Heaven on October 5, 2021. Mary Sue Wilmot, born in Vernon Texas on November 18, 1937, passed peacefully in her sleep on October 3, 2021.
Ray was the child of father Warren Homer Wilmot and mother Flora Olive Smith and had one older sister, Rose Marie Wilmot Niman. Ray was survived by his 4 children Michael R. Wilmot and spouse Mary Lou, Colette Wilmot Barth and spouse Robert, Connie Wilmot Valentien, and Richard Wilmot. He had seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Ray graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a mechanical engineering degree and had an industrial engineering degree from Georgia Tech. He honorably served our country as a Major in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1974 and faithfully performed his duties as a navigator in Guam during the Vietnam War. Ray was a devoted Christian and served as a Deacon in several churches over 50 years.
Mary was the child of father William Larkin Bowling and mother Birdie Cole. She was survived by her 3 children Carol Barnett Scheffer and spouse Eric Scheffer, Patricia Kathleen (Rachel) Barnett Jones, Terresa Kay Barnett Puc and spouse Patrick Puc, her 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mary was a devoted Christian and served as Sunday School teacher over 40 years.
Ray and Mary owned Wilmot Custom Images. They worked together in the business with Mary keeping the books. They moved from San Jose, CA to Lake Camanche near Ione, CA in June of 1981 and built their home that they lived in until June 2015. They relocated to Texas to be near family.
Ray and Mary loved animals. Ray was passionate about photography and loved to share thousands of photos of nature. Mary loved to cook for her family and crochet. Most of all, they shared a love of a lifetime and were married 46 years. They are now together in Heaven for eternity.
No formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. Checks or money orders should be sent to:
