Mary Cromwell Harvey

Mary was born in Brewer, Maine on February 27, 1933 to John Cromwell and Medora Ward Cromwell. Mary graduated from Bangor High School in 1951 and from there move to New York City to attend Nursing School at Bellevue Hospital. It was there that she met and fell in love with John J. Harvey, whom she married in 1954. He preceded her in death in 2012. Together they raised four children with Mary being the home maker, as John began his military career.

As a family, the Harvey’s enjoyed the military life in Pennsylvania, Hawaii and San Antonio. It was while they were in San Antonio in the 1970s that Mary decided to return to nursing as a registered nurse. She worked in San Antonio, Texas and San Francisco, California until her retirement in 1993.

Mary and John enjoyed 20 years together retired and they traveled the world. They especially enjoyed Europe and Caribbean cruises. They also enjoyed attending plays and musicals together. They so enjoyed their final years in Sun City, and they had a full and happy life with friends and family.

Mary is survived by her son, John C. Harvey; daughters, Patricia, Mary Beth and Lise Grady; granddaughters, Rachel Bessey and Shauna Harvey; grandsons, Trevor Grady and John and Lucas McKinon; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Pierce Bessey; and sister-in-law Joyce Berra and husband Lou.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 17th of July, 2013, in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas.
