Matthew Albert Blankenship passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on March 9, 2024, and was welcomed by the Lord with open arms.
Matthew was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester W. Lang, M.D., Rebecca Lang, Lois Still, and Tom Still. He is survived by his parents, Albert and Robin Blankenship, and his brother and sister, Andrew and Sara Blankenship as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Matthew was born in Georgetown, Texas on November 4, 1995, to parents Albert and Robin Blankenship. He grew up in Georgetown where he attended school and graduated from Chip Richarte High School. He loved to skateboard and hang out with his friends around town. One of whom is his lifelong friend, Phoebe Lynn Durr who loved him dearly.
After graduating from high school, Matthew and his brother, Andrew, moved in together in Austin, Texas. They loved living together in Austin, where they worked and met with friends to play card games and socialize.
Matthew was an amazing, creative soul. He was an artist and dabbled in painting and many different media including sketching, painting, graffiti, and screen printing. He loved hiking and exploring the outdoors at every chance he had. He loved to go to Bull Creek Park with his friends.
Matthew will always be remembered for his kindness and loving spirit that brought everyone he ever met together to laugh and have fun. He will be forever missed.
