Mattie Lee Thomas

Mattie Lee Thomas, was born August 10, 1944 as a twin, to Otis McDonald and Mattie Tanksley-McDonald. She was educated at Marshall-Carver in Georgetown.Mattie confessed a hope in Christ at an early age as a member of Gayhill Baptist Church now known as Calvary Hill Baptist Church.On September 25,1965, Mattie united in matrimony to Cornelius Thomas Jr. To this union three children were born; Teresa, John and Kimberly.Mattie was an active member of the High Energy Social Club of Georgetown,TX. Mattie's faith was evident in how she lived- with open hands, an open heart, and an open home.Mattie will be remembered by her gentle hands that cooked countless meals, loving arms that held so many children, and her wise voice that has guided generations.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers- Elza McDonald, Robert Lee McDonald, and James McDonald sisters- Mary Frances Swanson, Luvina Allen Jones, and loving son John Thomas.Mattie leaves behind two daughters, Teresa Thomas and Kimberly Thomas both of Georgetown, TX., twin brother Otis Lee McDonald of Edna,TX., grandchildren Taki Thomas, Corniqua Thomas, Chavoz Thomas,  Jaquez Thomas-Ortega, and Tyler Hill great-grandchildren Ta'Lyha Thomas, Itzel Turcios, and Messiah Moore and a host of other family and friends.
