Melvin Douglas Jackson

Melvin Douglas (Doug) Jackson, age 49, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was born August 25, 1963 in Drumright, Oklahoma to S. L. Jackson and Della Taylor Jackson.

Doug’s closest friends and family will fondly remember him as a very caring and giving person who was full of life and never let the small things in life get him down. He was a supporting and loving son and brother who was a quiet soul, but let his big, beautiful smile speak for him. He proudly served in the United States Navy, and was a faithful employee of Gary Hall Construction for several years.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his brothers, David, Samuel, and Corey Jackson all from Georgetown, Texas and beloved sister, Tammy Jackson of Round Rock, Texas and a host of relatives and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Jackson’s life will be at ten o’clock in the morning on Saturday the 10th of August, 2013 in the Chapel of the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas with Pastor Rudy Williams officiating.
