Nancy Ann Giles Munguia

Nancy Ann Giles Munguia Dec. 22, 1925 - May 13, 2010 Nancy Ann Giles Munguia (84) slipped peacefully into eternity in the early morning hours of May 13, 2010 and into the welcoming arms of her husband and son who preceded her death. Nancy was born on December 22, 1925 in Austin, Texas the 3rd child and oldest daughter of Edward Giles, Sr. and Thelma Hauer. Nancy graduated from Austin High School in 1943 and became a secretary at an insurance company in Austin where she met and fell in love with Alfredo Munguia, Jr. They were married December 4, 1947 in Laredo, Texas and moved to Harlingen in the Rio Grande Valley where they raised a son (Joseph Edward) and a daughter (Rebecca Ann). Nancy and Fred moved back to Austin in 1977 after Fred retired and Nancy started working at MOS 2 for Motorola in 1980 until she retired in 1991. Nancy and her daughter moved out to Sun City Georgetown in 2004 where she joined the Solos and enjoyed her Line dancing and working in her garden. Nancy is survived by her sister Bess Mays of Arlington, her daughter Rebecca Reach of Georgetown, 3 grandchildren (Jennifer Davis, Joseph Edward Munguia, Jr. and Jonathan Reach) and 5 great grandchildren. A private graveside service for the family will be held at Cook Walden Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville Saturday June 12, 2010 at 09:00am and a Celebration of Nancy's life will be held that afternoon at 3:00pm at the Holiday Inn Express North (14620 N I-H 35) across from Cook Walden Funeral Home.
