On Thursday, September 10, 2020, Pablo L. Montes was called home at the age of 86, surrounded by family. Pablo was born on April 28, 1935 in Coahuila Ciudad Acuna, Mexico to Rafael and Anastacia Montes.
On December 26, 1955 Pablo married his wife, Maria Rosas. They were blessed with 64 years of marriage and during this time raised five sons, Paul, Richard, Aurelio, Edward and Johnny. He loved the simple things in life; hunting, fishing, ranching, listening to music and drinking. Pablo enjoyed his jobs on the ranch and construction until he retired. In his later years he enjoyed riding around on his scooter with his great grandchildren and tending to his goats with his dogs by his side.
Pablo will be lovingly remembered by his wife Maria Montes and his children; Paul (Gwyn), Richard, Aurelio (Juanita), Edward and Johnny (Maria Garza). He will also be fondly remembered by his 17+ grandchildren and their spouses, 40+ great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, three brothers, two sisters and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pablo was preceded in death by his father, Rafael, mother, Anastacia and brothers Eulogio, Gavino, Genaro, Serapio and Sebastian; daughter, Josphina and great granddaughter Christina Montes.
A Visitation will be held Friday, September 18, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 10:00 am also in the Chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home. Mr. Montes will be laid to rest at Las Tres Maria Cemetery in Liberty Hill following the Funeral Service.
