Rebecca Ann “Becky” Hernandez was born March 23, 1942 in Georgetown, Texas, the daughter of Concepcion and Ventura (Raya) Lopez. She went home to be with the Lord on March 10, 2021 in Georgetown, at the age of 78 years. Becky was a lifetime resident of Georgetown. She obtained her nursing degree in 1970 at the University of Texas at Austin and dedicated over 40 years to caring for those in need in various capacities of the Georgetown Healthcare System. She was a founding member of the Lone Star Circle of Care, where she also sat on the board. Becky and Jimmy Hernandez were united in marriage on June 19, 1964. Jimmy and Becky served as pastors of New Life Ministry Church from 1997 until Jimmy’s passing in 2019. Her love for Christ and ministering to others led her to help form a jail ministry along with Clemie Schroeder and Inez Gonzales for many years. Becky was an excellent cook and will be well remembered for her homemade tortillas and lemon meringue pie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Concepcion ( Frank) and Ventura Lopez; her husband Jimmy Hernandez and several siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, J. Michael Hernandez and wife Celeste, Jimmy Alan Hernandez and wife Judith and Dina Darlene Hernandez; sister, Rosa Valdez; grandchildren, Michael Hernandez, Caleb Hernandez, Leah Hernandez, Angela Hernandez, J. Michael Hernandez, II, Cameron Hernandez, Christian Hernandez and Braxton Vasquez. She also had 9 Great Grandchildren as well.
