With hearts full of love and sorrow, we share the passing of Regan Shelby Dansen, who was called home to heaven on March 4, 2025. She left this world peacefully in her sleep, though far too soon for those who cherished her.
Regan was born on October 4, 2004, in Austin, TX, the beloved youngest daughter of Bobbi and George Dansen. As the baby of the family, she was adored by her older sisters, Stephanie and Kaitlyn, who treasured her feisty spirit and boundless energy. Regan had a way of lighting up every room she entered, bringing joy, laughter, and a contagious zest for life. Her spontaneous spirit and unpredictable charm made every moment with her unforgettable.
Regan was a firecracker—bold, unafraid, and full of energy. She stood her ground, spoke her truth, and never hesitated to defend what she believed in. She was following in her sister Kaitlyn’s footsteps as a student at Texas State University, embracing new experiences. Regan shared a deep and special bond with her mother, Bobbi— a day didn’t pass without them exchanging numerous calls and messages. The hole her absence leaves in her mama’s life is insurmountable.
From a young age, Regan discovered her passion for dance. With natural flexibility, talent, and dedication, she excelled in many styles and performances. Her recitals and competitions were moments of immense pride for her family, a testament to her determination and grace.
A 2023 graduate of East View High School in Georgetown, Regan’s journey was not without challenges. After enduring a devastating car accident and a long rehabilitation, she amazed everyone with her resilience and perseverance, overcoming obstacles with courage and strength.
She also inherited her family’s love for animals, with a particularly soft spot for her beloved little kitty, Anna, who was a quiet comfort when the world was too loud.
Regan leaves behind her loving family: her mother, Bobbi (Jason Nixon) Dansen; her father, George (Demetria) Dansen; and her sisters, Stephanie (Ricky) Miles and Kaitlyn (Jonathan) Casey. She was a cherished aunt to her nieces, Emma and Zoey, and a beloved granddaughter to her maternal grandparents, “Fafi” Laurel Chapman and “Pa” Thomas Roff, and paternal grandparents, Carole and George Dansen. In addition, she will be deeply missed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
We all move forward with hearts that are both full and broken—full of love for Regan, and broken by the weight of her absence. There are no words that can make sense of a life so vibrant, so fierce, so full of fire, being taken too soon. She overcame so many setbacks and endured; she persevered and showed the world she doesn’t settle. She lived with more sass, veracity, and vibrancy than many do in lives decades longer.
A gathering of family and friends to share memories and celebrate Regan’s life will be held at The Crossover (1717 Scottsdale Dr.,Cedar Park, TX) on Tuesday, March 11, a visitation will be held from 3:00- 5:00 PM, with a tribute dance from Müv’s Fluid Dance Company at 5:00 pm. A funeral service will immediately follow, with dinner served afterward.
A graveside service, open to all, will be held on Wednesday, March 12, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of The Rosary Cemetery (330 Berry Lane, Georgetown, TX).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to her family to be used to honor Regan’s life and legacy. Above all, her family asks for your prayers and support during this unimaginably difficult time. Regan’s light, love, and laughter will never be forgotten. “We will hold you close, our tiny dancer.”
