Richard “Rich” Louis Miller was born April, 1, 1939 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Louis George Miller and Virginia M. Spinner. He has two surviving siblings, Joyce and Carolyn Miller. He was married to the late Mary Kathryn Halsey for 37 years. He is survived by his son, Kirk Louis Miller and wife Wendy Marie Miller of Patterson, New Jersey; and grandchildren, Nikolas Anthony Louis Miller and Jordan Blake Miller both of Oceanside, California.
Rich served in the United States Navy from July 25, 1956 to July 24, 1962 serving aboard the USS Philippine Sea as a plane captain for S2F Trackers. Rich enjoyed life to the fullest and had many interests that kept him busy. A lover of music and guitar player, he could always be counted on to be singing a song from the 50’s, 60’s or 70’s. A man with rhythm who loved to go dancing with his fiancée, Joan Carriker, he could dance all night to the oldies!! He had a love for anything with an engine, whether it be a warbird from World War II, a hotrod from the 1950’s or a steam locomotive. He was truly a fun and exciting guy and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service to celebrate Rich’s life will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in the chapel of the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas with Mr. John Onstott officiating.
Arrangements by Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628 (512)863-2564.
