

Robert (Bob) Thomas McKeon passed away at his home in Hutto, Texas on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the age of 98. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mary McKeon, his wife Dorothy Anna McKeon (Rizzo), his brothers Harry and Pete, and his son Richard. He is lovingly remembered by his children Robert E. McKeon and Deborah Johnson, his nieces and nephews, his grandchildren Jocelyn, Lucas, Allison, Terry, and Melissa, and his great-grandchildren Zoe, Shane, and Skylar. Friends and loved ones include Kathy, Charlie, Norma, Amy, Ben, Shjon, Sadie, Juliana, Andrea, Jennifer and many others.
A visitation and short time of remembrance will be held at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home at 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Bob was a true lover of music, opera, and the American Standards. He was a great fan of the Sherlock Holmes mysteries and books of history and geography.
Bob was born May 13, 1919 in New York, New York. He was a member of the Greatest Generation and grew up during the Great Depression. He fought for his country in WWII in the Philippines and New Guinea. In 1945 he was honorably discharged and on June 22, 1946 he married Dorothy Rizzo. He worked for the US Postal Service until his retirement in 1979. He lived in Georgetown, Texas from 1980 until 2009, when his wife passed; he then moved in with his daughter in Hutto, Texas. He spent the rest of his life with her and with loving family and friends.
