Ron was born August 21, 1952, in Naples, Texas, the youngest of five children born to Homer Lee and Mattie Clarice Sharp. He grew up in Jacksonville and graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1970, where he lettered in football. He went on to serve his country in the Army as a surveyor for howitzers.
Upon his return to Texas, he worked as a machinist at Nibco in Nacogdoches, married the love of his life, JoAnn, went back to school to become a software systems engineer, and had a son, Cory, to whom he was the most loving, doting father anyone could have asked for.
His career led his family to relocate to Georgetown in 1994, the town that would remain his home for the next 30 years.
He loved golf, home improvement projects, and working on the yard – he was always in the middle of at least one project and seemed to be able to fix anything himself. He took pride in his work and always sought to leave everything better than he found it.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Homer Lee Sharp and Mattie Clarice Sharp, and his brother Jerry Sharp. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Sharp, son Cory Sharp, brother Danny(Barbara) Sharp, brother Bill (Karen) Sharp, sister Kathy (Forrest) Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends
